Halloween Decorative Blocks

Get ready for Halloween with this easy Halloween decorative blocks project! Place these blocks on your mantel or in a stack on the kitchen table to add some festive fun to your home decor. All you need are smooth wood blocks, paper, Mod Podge and a few other items. In fact, you might have everything you need in your craft room right now!

  • I used a 4 x 4 fence post cut into 3.5″ wood blocks. Give the edges and sides a bit of light sanding.

  • Paint all sides but the bottom with acrylic paint. A light coat is fine so it looks more distressed. Once dry, lightly sand the edges and sides.

  • Print some spooky images or use cardstock for the sides. Cut them so they are smaller than the block sides letting th eblock show. Give the edges a tattered look with decorative scissors.

  • Apply light coats of Mod Podge to the backs of your images and apply to the sides, rubbing out any bubbles. Let dry and apply a thin layer over the top of the block sides with the images to seal them.
