You Will Need:

200g Aran weight yarn – (100g of each colour ) [Prepare in a ball to avoid tangling while knitting]
9 mm , 100cm circular needles
Stitch marker [to mark the beginning of the new row]
Scissors
Yarn needle to sew in ends

How to Knit An Infinity Scarf:

Step 1 :

Cast on 150 stitches.

Step 2 :

Join in the round with a knit row. Make sure your stitches are not twisted; this can not be corrected after you have joined the ends. Place your marker first, then knit the first stitch to join. Make the stitch quite tight; any gap will be closed later when sewing in the ends.

Step 3 :

Garter Section:

  • Row 1 – Purl
  • Row 2 – Knit
  • Row 3 – Purl
  • Row 4 – Knit

Step 4 :

Eyelet Section:

  • Row 1 -Yarn over, knit two stitches together, repeat to end of row.
  • Bring your yarn to the front. Knit two stitches together. The yarn is wrapping around the needle creating a new stitch to replace the one lost by knitting two together. Continue until you reach the marker.
  • Row 2 – Knit

Step 5 :

  • Repeat Garter section
  • Repeat Eyelet section
  • Repeat Garter section

If you want a wider cowl you can continue this repeat, if you have enough yarn!

Step 6 :

Cast off loosely and sew in the ends. Block by soaking the cowl, and then shaping before leaving to dry. This will help open up the eyelets and the cowl will lay better.
