Mason Jar Lid Ornaments

I sometimes use mason jars for craft projects and end up with leftover lids that I don’t know what to do with. These sweet ornaments put those lids to good use. They’re super fun to make too. They can be decorated in so many different ways – I’m sure you could come up with something wonderful and unique for your Christmas tree.

Materials List

Mason Jar Lids

Jute Rope

Hemp Rope

Papermania Jolly Santa Ribbon

Glue Gun

Alpha Stickers

  • Start out by wrapping ribbon or rope around the jar ring. I used a dot of glue from a hot glue gun every now and then, to keep the ribbon in place.

  • Put another dot of glue and the end so that the ribbon doesn’t unravel.

  • Knot rope around the ring so that your ornament can be hung.

  • I used alpha stickers to spell out words and glued them to the ring, but you could use all different kinds of embellishments. Think Christmas cutouts, jewels, faux flowers etc. Make yours unique!

  • Finish the top of the ornament with a miniature festive bow made from the Papermania Ribbon and glue it in place.
