Scrapbook Stamping by Shabneez Khan-Muztar:

Have you ever used stamps and stencils on your layouts? I find it’s a fun way to make use of items you may already have in your stash! To create this scrapbook page layout, I’ve used a variety of products from Ranger 0- check out exactly how I did it below…

You Will Need:

Step 1:

I chose a scalloped white textured 12” x 12” sheet of lightweight card to work on, as I love the way the texture really comes out when you apply inks to it. I resized my photo to 4” square, then matted onto a 4.5” black square leaving a white border, and stuck it on with glue.

Step 2:

I stamped ‘celebrate’ from the Ranger Letter It Birthday stamp set with versafine black ink, and added the word ‘life’ with some chipboard alphabet I already had in my stash.

Step 3:

Next, I used the Dina Wakley Gusts Media Stencil to form a border of grass. I used Old Paper distress ink though the stencil with the blending tool, then went in again with Mowed Lawn around the tips of the grass. Next, I moved the stencil to the right, and used the same inks again to form overlapping blades of grass.

Step 4:

Having created the grass, I then stamped a couple of flowers from the Stampers Anonymous Flower Garden stamp set. The set features a beautiful selection of flowers that are wonderfully detailed! I stamped with my versamark ink pad again, as I knew I was going to use water and, being a pigment ink, it wouldn’t bleed.

To add colour, I used a distress crayon in Twisted Citron along the stem, then added water to draw out the colour with a small paint brush. Next I used the Mustard Seed distress crayon for the centre of the flower, and used the same technique. I then took some Dina Wakley Acrylic Paint in Buff and, with a paintbrush, added paint outside the yellow to add a little more texture and colour.

Step 5:

Finally, I stamped another flower off the page on the top right-hand corner, near the photo, and used the same techniques to colour in the flower. I really enjoyed mixing up the products to create this layout… I hope it inspires you to have a go!
